Playbook is a downloadable workbook of practices & tools for experimentation & creative unfurling. It is an exploration of playfulness, a curiosity experiment in how play within creative constraints encourages a more intentional life. You’ll find 115 pages of prompts, activities, ideas & experiments designed to encourage curious outcomes & a sense of creative flow. There are no rules for the way in which you complete activities. In fact, a sense of unruly interpretation & playful curiosity is deeply encouraged.

Structured time for unstructured creativity, for experimentation and exploration, is too rare as an adult, but we’ve lost something important. What if we regularly gave ourselves time to play? What might we create, contemplate, consider? What might we invent, evolve, discover? How might we move in the world & think differently? Play is such a vital part of our creative growth, problem-solving, original thinking & more as children: how can we bring that sense of space & curiosity to adult life? With these questions in mind, I created & compiled tools & practices that made it easy for me to simply engage with daily, low stakes, playful creativity & then this project was born.

In a world often vying for our attention & creative energy, a digital world that creates a warped idea of urgency & productivity, making time for play with the intention of creative curiosity is radical & life-giving. It invokes a deliberate & intentional buoyancy in the way we engage with the world & our desires. It creates a space for us to engage with our very human & very important capacity for silliness & exploration. Even if it’s simply putting aside ten minutes a day to scribble on a page, draw shapes & colours, write nonsense, cut things & throw things & make a little mess, it’s a deeply human practice & one that makes space for more creative living, thinking, problem-solving. If nothing else, I hope this workbook brings you a little bit of fun & some moments of presence.
